The Reading Culture Igniter status is the first milestone in the 2024-2025 Reading Culture Awards! This honor is granted to schools with 25% of their students logging reading through Beanstack each school year. Attaining Igniter status is just the beginning; we're dedicated to supporting goal-setting strategies, fostering motivation through friendly competition, and providing incentives to schools as they meet participation milestones throughout the academic year. The ultimate goal: reaching 75% student engagement and the coveted Reading Culture Trailblazer Award.
Reaching Igniter Status
These schools have successfully lit a flame in their community, and their students are getting on board! To celebrate this milestone, they were awarded a digital badge, certificate, and a $25 gift card that schools can use to celebrate their reading culture. To get students excited about reading, we suggest buying small prizes to add to challenges, purchasing a book for your library's collection, or throwing a donut hole party for your winning classroom.
Here are some ways Igniters are spending their $25 gift cards:
- "I'm so excited to get some new books ordered for the library! The kids will be so excited to see more of their favorite series! "
- "We were delighted to receive the Reading Culture Igniter badge. We are grateful for this recognition, and the rebate will support our efforts to promote and foster a love of reading in our school.
- "I used the reward to purchase paperback books for my students!"
- "I used the gift card to buy Candy prizes for our students and the rewards system is really making a difference! "
- "Schools that have students who struggle to be motivated like my building are very excited to be reading and logging their minutes. With the gift card, I have purchased prizes for the students and a few trophies to continue the positive response!"
